Credit Card Payment Instructions
We know the new checkout payment method using a credit card seems a bit clunky at first, but it wasn't our choice - it's a new method that credit card processing banks are using more and more where the credit card numbers are not entered on the seller's site, but rather on a highly-encrypted secure page that belongs to the bank - in our case, Chase Bank, one of the world's largest credit card processor banks. This way - in their minds - the numbers are more secure.
(It's a bit similar to the way PayPal works - when you click the PayPal button on a site, you are taken to a PayPal page where you login and use whatever payment method you want to use, then you are returned to the seller's site to continue.)
On our site:
When you get to the Payment step in checkout, it will look similar to this:
The PayPal radio button will be preselected only because it is the first payment choice on the list, but there are two choices on the list - "PayPal" and "Payment Method" by credit card.
To pay by credit card, click the round radio button next to the words "Payment Method" with the credit card images toward the right, and it will look like this:
As it says, after you click the "Pay now" button that is below the billing address area, you will be redirected to a secure Payment page where you will complete the entry of your credit card information. That page is the highly-encrypted page operated by the bank itself.
After you submit the card info, you will come back to our site where it shows the purchase completed.
This is a new security banking feature that all sales websites will eventually be using - we just opted to upgrade now/early to protect our customers' information.
